“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us...” (John 1 v 14)
Holy love given birth
Peace is possible on earth.
Truth comes to us
In God’s Son, Christ Jesus.
However unlikely
Love comes to us
In a Baby!
The Child of Mary
Is God’s Son.
We must conform
To this holy One.
Our Saviour is Teacher.
Love and peace become active
Beneath a holy directive
Spirit given, driven.
Let us offer to Jesus
All that we can.
A season of goodwill
Begun by God’s grace,
Now it is up to us.
Give your will
That the Spirit
Can fill you with Jesus.
“And we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1 v 14)
Give your all
To hear God’s call,
For the Lord Jesus
To live in us.
This is the reason
For Christmas.
Our world remains
Radically imperfect,
Love impoverished.
It is up to us
To shine the light
Brightest light of Jesus’ love.
Jesus is God with us
By the Holy Spirit,
To be this light.
The season of Christmas
Lives on in us.
Let the unconquerable joy
Of God’s Baby Boy
Ever brightly shine,
To combine heaven
With life on earth.
Love must reclaim us,
The love of Christ Jesus.
“And of His fullness we have all received and grace for grace.” (John 1 v 16)
“For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ...The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.” (John 1 v 17,18)
Let us pray with all rejoicing for the Lord God, having put a human face on the Holy Spirit gives power of holy love, so this is recognisable to us.
Let us pray with thanksgiving for all the benefits and blessings we are now receiving, love, perfect love having been born for us. Amen.
